Jean Jonassaint, co-founder and co-editor of HDNdigest, is a professor of French and Francophone studies at Syracuse University. He is also a member of scientific or editorial boards of the journals Continents Manuscrits, InterFrancophonies, Journal of Haitian Studies, and Il Tolomeo: A Postcolonial Studies Journal. 

His recent publications include Typo/Topo/Poéthique : sur Frankétienne (2008); “Le cinéma de Sembène Ousmane, une (double) contre-ethnographie” (2010), “Un Christophe ignoré des Césairiens : Notes pour des genèses” (2017), “For the Trouillots: An Afterword to the English Translation of Ti difé boulé sou istoua Ayiti” (2021), and a trilingual edition of Hostos Review/Revista Hostosiana, “Black Conditions: A French-Spanish Caribbean Dialogue” (2021).
