At the Haitian Development Network (HDN), we’re proud to partner with LASCH to improve lives in Haiti while advancing our shared commitment to a stronger, truly independent Haiti. In this video, Daniel Ulysse highlights several outcomes from our work together:
Thanks to our sponsors HDN and LASCH were able to achieve the following:
Extensive outreach across Haiti: We’ve hosted conferences and seminars throughout the country, connecting with pastors, students, farmers, and other community members to listen, collaborate, and respond to local needs.
Boat Repair Training For Young Men: In partnership with LASCH, we supported a hands-on boat repair training program that equips young men with practical skills for employment and long-term self-sufficiency.
Clinic Renovation And Reopening: We helped move a clinic from being empty and in disrepair—without a pharmacy or proper waiting area—toward becoming operational. The progress shown includes repairs to the building and roof, plus the purchase of key materials and equipment to support functionality.
Community Water Pump Repair: We supported repairs to a community water pump, helping restore access to water that’s essential for daily life, health, and hygiene.
Agro-Tourism And Haitian Product Promotion: Together with LASCH, we promote agro-tourism and highlight Haitian agricultural products—supporting local farmers and strengthening community-based economic activity.
Supporting Haitian Entrepreneurship: We help promote young Haitian entrepreneurs, including efforts to connect their products to markets in the United States.
Elevating Haitian Culture And Tourism In The U.S.: We support events that celebrate Haitian identity and visibility—such as raising the Haitian-American flag in New York City—and we promote travel experiences that help people see Haiti’s beauty firsthand (including “val tourism,” as referenced in the video).
Health Fairs And Medical Collaboration: We’ve organized health fairs and receptions that bring together medical professionals from multiple countries, including Haitian-American doctors, to support health-focused service and collaboration connected to Haiti.
Encouraging Nursing Support: We also call on nurses and healthcare workers to support this mission and participate in strengthening care capacity in Haiti.
Partnership-Building With Leaders In Haiti And The U.S.: We’ve met with local officials in Haiti (including mayors) and also engaged elected officials in the United States, including Senator Chuck Schumer, to build support and visibility for this work.
Your support helps us improve health access, practical education and training, community infrastructure, economic development, and Haitian cultural pride.
