⌂ » Help Haiti » Advocate and Take Action to Help Haiti
Advocacy is one of the most powerful ways to support Haitian communities—by raising awareness, mobilizing resources, and helping more people understand what’s happening and how they can help.
One share can lead to one donor, one partner, or one fundraiser.
Action ideas:
Follow HDN on social media and share key posts
Share an HDN story or update with your personal message
Repost a campaign (Giving Tuesday, Year-End Giving, Emergency Relief, etc.)
Copy/paste message:
I’m supporting HDN Foundation’s work in Haiti—helping families build food security and self-reliance through sustainable agriculture and community-led development. Learn more and get involved: hdn.org
Stay informed and ready to respond when Haiti needs support most.
When you subscribe, you’ll receive:
Impact stories from the field
Updates on programs (seeds, poultry, savings groups, biogas)
Emergency alerts and special campaigns
Invitations to events and online briefings
Sometimes the most powerful action is simply inviting someone else in.
Try this:
Text 3 friends and ask them to give $10–$25
Ask your small group, church, or workplace team to support a program together
Create a “matching moment” (you give $100 and invite others to match you)
Advocacy becomes even more powerful when you lead.
Fundraisers are great for:
Birthdays and celebrations
Church or school drives
Workplace team challenges
Holiday or end-of-year campaigns
If you want to do more, become a volunteer advocate who helps expand HDN’s reach.
Ambassadors can:
Share monthly updates across their networks
Host a small info session or online gathering
Help recruit donors, sponsors, volunteers, or partners
Represent HDN at a local event or church gathering
When talking about Haiti, we encourage advocacy that:
Centers dignity and Haitian leadership
Avoids stereotypes or “savior” messaging
Highlights solutions and resilience—not just hardship
Promotes sustainable development and community empowerment
If you’d like, HDN can provide ready-to-share language and resources.
If you’re building a full “Take Action” toolkit, this section can include links such as:
HDN fact sheet (PDF)
10 shareable social posts
HDN logo, images, and brand guidelines
Presentation slides for churches/schools
A short HDN intro video
Want to invite HDN to speak to your group?
We can support:
Churches and mission groups
Schools and student organizations
Community groups
Corporate teams
Some supporters want to take action through civic engagement. If HDN chooses to offer this, keep it broad and nonpartisan.
Possible actions:
Encourage humanitarian support and stability-building efforts
Ask leaders to prioritize food security and community development
Support policies that protect vulnerable populations
“Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.”
Proverbs 29:18
