These contributions are another way to help by reducing project costs, improve program efficiency, and ensure families and communities have access to critical resources.
If you or your organization would like to donate items instead of (or in addition to) monetary gifts, we’re grateful for your support and happy to guide you in what to give to be most effective.
Every donated item helps HDN stretch donor dollars further, allowing us to serve more families with the same financial resources.
In-kind donations help equip families, farmers, and local leaders with tools that promote independence and self-reliance.
Educational and training materials help strengthen local institutions, which are at the heart of long-term community development.
While needs can vary by season and program, the following categories of in-kind gifts consistently support HDN’s work:
Help Haitian families grow food sustainably.
Recommended items:
Hand tools (hoes, rakes, shovels, trowels)
Watering cans and irrigation supplies
Soil testing kits
Sturdy gloves, boots, or protective gear
These materials directly support our seed distribution and farmer training programs.
Support families participating in HDN’s poultry initiatives.
Helpful items include:
Chicken feed (non-expired)
Veterinary supplies
Portable or buildable chicken coop materials
Waterers, feeders, or incubator accessories
These items help families maintain healthy flocks and build sustainable income.
Strengthen schools, training centers, and youth programs.
Useful items include:
Notebooks, pencils, and basic school supplies
Educational posters or learning kits
Tablets, laptops, or solar chargers (must be functional)
Books and materials relevant to agriculture, business, or leadership
These resources support community learning and capacity-building.
Support HDN’s operations in both Haiti and the U.S.
Items may include:
Laptops, printers, or tablets (working condition)
Projectors and small speakers for training programs
Office supplies (paper, ink, folders, staplers)

These donations help HDN reduce administrative costs while strengthening program delivery.
To ensure safety, feasibility, and compliance, HDN generally cannot accept:
Expired goods
Prescription medications or medical devices
Perishable food items
Hazardous materials
Large shipments without prior approval
Items requiring complex logistics or high storage costs
If you’re unsure about an item, please reach out — we’re happy to clarify.
